Abstract

The results of absoprtion coefficient measurements of HCl in the region 1400 to 2200 Å are reported and compared with those previously published. It is concluded that the present results represent the best compromise of all measurements and should be used for any calculations on the photodissociation rate of HCl in planetary atmospheres.
