1 The American Association of State Climatologists (AASC) is an organization that promotes cooperation between state climatologists and those federal, state and private agencies whose functions include the collection, analysis and dissemination of climatic information. Another objective of the group is to facilitate exchange of information among state climatologists, thereby developing more effective state climatological programs. Membership in the organization includes Voting Members and Associate Members. Voting Members are those individuals recognized by the Director of the National Climatic Data Center and a state agency as an official State Climatologist. Associate Members are nominated and elected by Voting Members and enjoy all the privileges of the organization except voting and holding office.
