Abstract

A satellite picture shows many aspects of modification of continental air over warm water. The estimated average vertical flux of sensible and latent heat over 24 h was 103 W m−2 (1.44 cal cm−3 min−1 Maximum rates were estimated to be an order of magnitude higher.
