Recently, a paper (2) has been published on the effect of time lapse between the processes of sampling and expansion in the Aitken counter. The conclusion was that a rapid decay of nuclei occurs in the counter. The cause of this decay was attributed to the gravitational effect upon the nuclei in the counter. Another effect, however, a diffusion of nuclei, was noticed by the present writer, and by this effect the decay of small nuclei was well explained.
