Challenging opportunities exist for a few meteorologists to serve as consultants to industry. These consultants stand in a unique position of being some of the most active agents in expanding reliable uses of weather information and deserve encouragement by the entire profession. However, several limiting factors do exist which cause slow growth in this specialized field.
