The First U.S. - China Symposium on Meteorology
This special collection of papers is based on presentations (both oral and poster)made at the First U.S.-China Symposium on Meteorology, which was held at the National Weather Center on the campus of The University of Oklahoma during 26-28 February 2008. This was the first occasion on which leading atmospheric scientists from these two nations had assembled bilaterally to focus on animportant scientific area. The topic of the symposium was 'Mesoscale Meteorology and Data Assimilation,' and the goals were to define the state of the science in the two countries and to identify the most important challenges for the next decade. Click here to view the collection preface and a list of articles in this special collection. The articles will be presented below as they are published, and will appear in Monthly Weather Review, Weather and Forecasting, and the Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology.
