. Linear extrapolation was used to estimate the quantity of cells to convert to cropland in 1999. This assumes that annual conversion to cropland from 1984 to 1992 stays constant through 1992–99. Cropland was allocated sequentially to pixels with the largest probability values after masking pixels that were cropland already in 1992.
