Two equations in Smith and Kliche (2005) contain errors. In (10), the exponent of the factor (μ + 4) on the right-hand side should also be μ + 4. The correct equation, reading

was used to derive the moment estimators for Nw listed in the appendix, but in the estimator listed for the M2, M4, M6 combination of moments the factor (μ̂ + 2) in the numerator should be (μ̂ + 3). The correct equation there [appendix section b(2)] is

In Smith and Kliche (2005), this correction affects only the M2, M4, M6 line in Fig. 11; on the scales used in that figure, the difference is barely perceptible.
