Seven charts were constructed showing the probability of precipitation at Washington, D. C. for specified 12 and 24 hour periods when the center of the 12-hour pressure fall was located in different geographical areas. The charts constructed for winter months show that the probability of precipitation at Washington is greatest when the pressure fall is southwest of Washington. Precepts concerning pressure falls and the subsequent occurrence of precipitation at Washington are included.
