The occasion of the 1971 International Solar Energy Society Conference, held at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) at Greenbelt, Maryland, U.S.A., was used to organize an international comparison of standard pyranometers. Some of the main results from this intercomparison are presented here.
