An incorrect value for the global thermosteric sea level trend was published in Desbruyères et al. (2017). The value of 0.87 ± 0.13 mm yr−1 provided in section 3a and 6 was mistakenly derived using Earth’s surface area in the vertical integration, whereas the global ocean’s surface should have been used. The correct value for the global thermosteric sea level trend derived from our blended Argo–hydrography product is 1.33 ± 0.20 mm yr−1. This modification does not change any of the conclusions of the paper. We regret any inconvenience this error may have caused.
In addition, the fourth author’s affiliation was incomplete when originally published. The correct affiliation appears above.
